Harborside Cottages Maine

About the Cottages

Our housekeeping cottages are supplied with almost everything that you will need for a comfortable week's stay. All cottages have fully equipped kitchens including refrigerators and camp-sized stoves with ovens, automatic coffee makers, cookware, dishes and lobster pots. All cottages also have electric heat and 3/4 sized private baths with showers. We supply blankets, bath mats and kitchen towels. In the tradition of housekeeping cottages, however, guests are asked to provide their own sheets and towels. For those who are unable to do so, linen rentals are available for an additional fee. (see Rates).

Our cozy one-bedroom cottages (the Gannet, Petrel, Heron, and Tern) are perfect for one or two people or for a family with one child (maximum three people). The Gannet and Petrel, our larger one-bedroom cottages, have two twin beds in the bedroom and a full-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The Heron and Tern, a bit smaller but closer to the water, have two twin beds in the bedroom and one cot-sized bed in the living room.

Our two-bedroom cottages are perfect for four guests (maximum six people) and are furnished with four twin beds and a full-sized futon sofa in the living room. The Cormorant and Osprey are our oldest but most requested two-bedroom cottages because of their location directly on the water. The Teal, Mallard, Gull and Loon (Loon also waterfront) feature a more open, roomy floor plan.

All cottages are non-smoking (guests may smoke outside).

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate pets.

Gannet

Though the Gannet sits furthest from the water, as one of our larger one-bedroom cottages, it is a favorite among return guests. Perhaps it’s because of the lovely view from the kitchen table or because there’s no hill or steps to climb! The Gannet has two twin beds and a full-sized pullout sofa. It can accommodate a maximum of three people.

Petrel

One of our larger one-bedroom cottages, the Petrel gives the feeling of sitting high above the harbor. Guests enjoy the view from the kitchen table and sitting out on the porch beside the sweet-smelling phlox. The Petrel has two twin beds and a full-sized pullout sofa. It can accommodate a maximum of three people.

Heron

Resting on the hillside which slopes down to the harbor, both the Heron and Tern are cozy enough for one and roomy enough for two (maximum three people). Both offer beautiful harbor views and all the amenities of our larger cabins. The Heron and Tern each have two twin beds in the bedroom and a cot-sized bed in the living room. For larger families, these cottages can also provide extra space when rented in combination with a two-bedroom cottage.

Teal

Although the Teal is our two-bedroom cottage that sits furthest from the water, it still has its fans and is the choice of many return guests. Although it’s the same size as the Mallard, Gull, and Loon, the Teal features a slightly different layout with the bedrooms separated by the bath instead of sitting side by side. Families with young children also sometimes prefer being a bit further from the water and closer to the open play lawn. The Teal has four twin beds and a full-sized futon pullout sofa in the living room. It can accommodate a maximum of six people.

The Mallard has four twin beds and a full-sized futon pullout sofa in the living room. It can accommodate a maximum of six people.

From the porch, guests can look both up and down the harbor, and can keep an eye on kids down at the dock. The Gull has four twin beds and a full-sized futon pullout sofa in the living room. It can accommodate a maximum of six people.

One of our original cottages, the Cormorant sits right beside the harbor. The Cormorant has four twin beds and a full-sized futon pullout sofa in the living room. It can accommodate a maximum of six people.
